James L. Banwart, Sr. has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Pittsburg State University in 1964. He attended graduate school at the University of Kansas in 1966.
In 1966, he was admitted to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and became a partner at the CPA firm of John E. Diehl, now Diehl Banwart Bolton. In 2006 he was awarded a life membership in the AICPA. Having been the senior partner at the firm since Mr. Diehl’s retirement, Banwart has the following areas of emphasis: estate and trust planning and taxation, franchise accounting, and income tax. In 1999, Banwart became a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning.
Throughout his 40 year career, he has been active in the community, including involvement in Rotary, service on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and ordination as an elder in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), where he presently serves on the Synod Finance Committee.
