Senior Accountants

Amanda Lancaster, CPA

Amanda earned her BBA in accounting in 2004 from Pittsburg State University and her MBA with an emphasis in accounting in 2005 from Pittsburg State University.  She joined the firm in May of 2005. Amanda passed the CPA exam in May 2012.  Amanda became a partner in the firm in 2022.  Amanda is a member of the AICPA and Kansas Society of CPA’s and is licensed to practice in Kansas.

Amanda is actively involved in business accounting and tax, personal income tax, and municipal audits.

Amanda currently serves as Treasurer of Trinity Lutheran Church and is active in various other community organizations.

Amanda is a Fort Scott, Kansas native and resides in Fort Scott with her husband, Brian, and three children, Emily, Tessa, and Wesley.  She enjoys home improvement projects, spending time with family and friends, reading, and chasing after her active kids.

Carol Hill, CPA

A 1987 graduate of Southwest Missouri State University, Carol began her career in public accounting in Harrisonville, Missouri. She has been with Diehl Banwart Bolton since relocating to Fort Scott in 1991.

Tax preparation and accounting for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and not-for-profits are a part of her responsibilities as a partner.

Carol is a member of the AICPA and Kansas Society of CPA’s. She is licensed to practice in Kansas and Missouri.

An active and contributing member of the Fort Scott community, Carol presently serves on the CASA Board of Directors, the Bourbon County Extension Council Executive Board, and the First Presbyterian Church Session. She has also served on the Chamber of Commerce Executive Board, the Downtown Program, the First Presbyterian Church Board of Deacons, and as President and Treasurer of Chapter FU PEO.

Donna Banwart, CPA

Donna joined the firm in October 2001.  Prior to working in the public accounting field, she gained a great deal of accounting experience as a FDIC bank examiner, bank internal auditor and as a bank Vice President of Operations.  

Donna is very client driven and gives each client request special attention.  Her expertise at the accounting firm is monthly compilations and payroll reporting.  

Donna graduated from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  She is a Fort Scott native and enjoys the outdoors, particularly ATVing, snow skiing, and kayaking.

Daryl Eagon, CPA

Daryl graduated from Rockhurst University with a BSBA in accounting in 1986. He also earned a MBA with an emphasis in finance/accounting in 1990 from Rockhurst University. Daryl passed the CPA exam in May 1993 and was honored by the AICPA and MSCPA for his scores. He is currently licensed in Kansas and Missouri.

After graduation from Rockhurst, Daryl spent ten years working primarily in the income and estate tax fields in Kansas City. In 1996, he moved to Pittsburg, Kansas, to work for another local CPA firm. He joined Diehl Banwart Bolton CPA’s, P.A. in October 2000.

Daryl works in tax and auditing practices. He also manages our Pittsburg Office. He and his wife, Tracey, live near Pittsburg and are active in the community.

James L. Banwart, Jr, CPA

Jim joined the firm in August 1991. He graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. One of Jim’s specialties is business design and tax planning. He also has extensive experience implementing, supervising, and producing monthly compilation reports for numerous Sonic Drive-In restaurants and other business, including regular strategy consulting and corporate tax returns.

Jim’s other specialty is tax and estate planning for high-net-worth clients. He is focused on helping his clients achieve their goals and create wealth. He has worked with numerous estate planning attorneys to structure and design workable estate plans to minimize the estate tax burden on the successor generations while helping his clients maintain control of their estates and create wealth in the successor generations.

Jim is a Fort Scott, Kansas native and enjoys the outdoors hunting, hiking, ATVing, snow skiing, and kayaking.

James L. Banwart, Sr., CPA

James L. Banwart, Sr. has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Pittsburg State University in 1964. He attended graduate school at the University of Kansas in 1966.

In 1966, he was admitted to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and became a partner at the CPA firm of John E. Diehl, now Diehl Banwart Bolton. In 2006 he was awarded a life membership in the AICPA. Having been the senior partner at the firm since Mr. Diehl’s retirement, Banwart has the following areas of emphasis: estate and trust planning and taxation, franchise accounting, and income tax. In 1999, Banwart became a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning.

Throughout his 60-year career, he has been active in the community, including involvement in Rotary, service on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and ordination as an elder in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), where he presently serves on the Synod Finance Committee.

Matthew Keys, CPA

A native of Carl Junction, MO, Matthew obtained a BS in Accounting from Pittsburg State University in 2016. Continuing at PSU, he completed an MBA in 2019. In 2023, Matthew realized an important career goal when he was admitted to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and became the newest addition to DBB’s CPA team.

Matthew joined the Diehl, Banwart, Bolton family in 2017. As a DBB tax preparation specialist, he handles individual, partnerships, corporations, and not-for-profit taxes. In addition to his business and individual financial accounting responsibilities, Matthew is also a part of the DBB auditing team and is involved in auditing small businesses, municipalities, and nonprofit clients. As one of the firm’s most knowledgeable payroll processing specialist, Matthew is well versed in the payroll tax requirements in for multiple taxing jurisdictions including Kansas, Colorado, Missouri to name a few.

A current resident of Fort Scott, Matthew enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.

Randall Phillips, CPA

A native of Chanute, Kansas, Randall graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1981. He began his career with Diehl Banwart Bolton, CPA’s, P.A. in their former Chanute office. After becoming a shareholder of the firm in 1990, Randall moved to Fort Scott in 1994.

Randall is involved in accounting and tax services for corporations, partnerships, and individuals. He is also involved in auditing small businesses, municipalities, and nonprofit clients.

Randall is a member of the AICPA and Kansas Society of CPA’s. He formerly served on the Executive Board of the Bourbon County Chamber of Commerce. He is a past Treasurer of the Fort Scott Kiwanis, as well as a past President of the Chanute Lions Club and Chanute Safari Jaycees.
